With the necessary merger of La Manga Club and Torrevieja Cricket Clubs in 2019, success in league and tournament cricket at the resort soon followed for the newly merged squads.
An immediate move into 1st division cricket in the ECCLinSpainwasanewexperienceformanyofthe players. However, combining both numbers and emerging talent was no barrier to achieving wins at both home and away fixtures, as demonstrated last May. The Club travelled to Albir, to play one of the strongest teams in Spain, Sporting Alfas Cricket Club,
celebratingagreatwinover40overs.
As a result, the squad became more confident that despite the new challenge of 1st Division cricket, they could be successful. What was clearly evident as the weeks went by was that a great club spirit was emerging. Not least because the side was being led with enthusiasm and determination by Kieran Wood, ablysupportedbyPaulHarvey.
