Chapter 6 Physics
6.1 Theory of particle properties of light
Einstein proposed the theory of particle properties of light. The
experiment he conducted was like this. He put the light on a
metal, and a lot of electrons popped out of the metal, which was
measured. Einstein said that the particles of light knocked out
electrons, so light has the property of particles.
There are two problems with this. First, how do you know that
the direction of light particle impact is correct, and it is correct
to knock out the electrons, with electrons left in directions you
want. Second, the light energy excites the electrons, and it is
also possible to let the electrons have energy and leave the
metal, by light excitation.
In theory, the theory of particle properties of light is impossible?
Impossible.
1. Light particle beam, no driving ability. For example,
electricity has a voltage, and water has water pressure or gravity.
But the photoelectron beam does not. 2. A beam of light
particles, nothing to bind. For example, electricity has circuits
and water has water pipes. But the photoelectron beam does not.
As soon as it hits the object, it is scattered.
Combining the above two points, the beam of light particles
does not work and cannot exist. So light should only have
waves, or electromagnetic properties. Light is the mutual
generation of electric waves and magnetic waves.
