UNDORAN FARM IS A 2,300-ACRE, conservation-based community located
just south of Charlottesville, Va. Home sites on the property are surrounded by
acres of managed forest and pastures, and the farm is dedicated to building its
homes in a way that promotes energy efficiency, resource efficiency, and health
Band comfort for its residents. This working farm is made up of about 1,100 acres
of rolling pastures, 1,000 acres of Piedmont forest, and 200 acres of apple orchards. Ultimately,
just over 100 homes will be built on the property. The homes on the farm are placed in a way
that uses the surrounding environment while minimizing the impact made on it. Homesites are
chosen based on beauty, buildability, privacy, and potential impacts on the overall community.
