One-of-a-kind
WEARABLE
ART by JAX
Atelier
Designing wearable art was always something I had wanted to do. Having
been an abstract and portrait painter and photographer over the last 20 years,
I eventually added jewelry art to my repertoire. In 2018, I opened JAX Atelier
and handmade jewelry became the focus. "Jax" is one of my nicknames, and
"Atelier" means artist studio or workshop in French. I thought this would be the
perfect name for my new venture.
For me, statement jewelry is the exclamation point on the day's outfit. It’s the
finishing touch that always brings a smile to my face and gives me that extra
bit of confidence for the day. Even if I wear neutrals, a pop of color in jewelry
makes the outfit feel dynamic, and lifts my spirits as well.
Creating organic shapes and intuitively cutting sculptural pieces really excites
me and I can easily get lost in the process. Earrings are my main love and
working with polymer clay allows me to take fun risks and explore shape, color
and design. Each pair of earrings is a one-of-a-kind design, which allows the
person wearing them to feel just as unique as these artful pieces.
My artistic career path has informed and led me to create the jewelry art I’ve
always wanted to make and I couldn’t be happier.
