Dr. Shaffick Hosein was contracted to prepare the annual accounts.

The Society continues to maintain two bank accounts with Republic Bank Ltd. at their
Valpark Branch. One of the accounts is specifically for Waqf funds.

7. Marketing

7.1 Agency System
No new agents were approved. The two appointed agents continued to function but with
very little financial results. However, both agents remain useful for the distribution of
marketing material and Waqfy Pans and as contact persons in their areas.

7.2 Website
The Website can be accessed via www.takaafultt.org and also www.takaaful.org.
Information on the Society’s products and events as well as our forms, newsletters, Waqf
presentation, agents, media releases, newspaper clippings and properties for sale can also
be accessed on the site.

7.3 Newsletter (Target – 3 issues)
During the period under review two (2) issues of our
Newsletter (Issues # 23 and 24) were published in our
local newspapers. These issues have been posted on our
website.

7.4 Media Coverage
The BOM continued to use the services of Sr. Yvonne
Teelucksingh as our Media Consultant. Seventeen (17)
media releases on events organized by and relating to
the Society were issued. However, eight (8) were
reported in the print media. All our media releases and
published releases (newspaper clippings) in the print
media are available on our website.

7.5 Welfare Co-ordinator
Visits by the Society’s Welfare Co-ordinator, Br. Manwar Ali, were made to members
following deaths in their families.

7.6 Sessions with Institutions (Target - 6 sessions)
Six (6) sessions were held:

     Balmain Mosque
     Charlieville ASJA Mosque (2 sessions)
     Debe Mosque
     Islamic Fadail Services Trust (IFST)
     UWI Islamic Society
