12. Shari’a Compliance

Shaykh Mohamed Munaf Mohamed continued to function as our Shari’a Consultant.
The Shari’a Audit forms part of our Financial Statements for 2015.

13. Honorarium

Once again, the Board of Management decided not to take the honorarium for the year
2015.

 14. House Building Committee

The House Building Committee (HBC) was established in March 2015. Through its
Waqf Fund, the Society started assisting in house completions in 2012. With the growth
of the Waqf Fund, it is expected that the allocation to House Building will increase. This
type of assistance is very tangible, long term and very much appreciated. There are also
many needy Muslim families who need inputs at various levels to improve their living
conditions and quality of life. During the year under review, the HBC developed policies
and an Application Form and facilitated a seminar that was conducted by staff of the
Programme Monitoring and Coordinating Unit (PMCU) of the Ministry of Housing and
Urban Development.

15. Special Projects

15.1 Eidgah (Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adhaa)
The Society had its fifth Eidgah (Eid-ul-Fitr) at the Centre of Excellence, Macoya on 18th
July 2015. The Khutbah was delivered by Br. Ameer Mohammed. The event was very
well attended. The Eidgah (Eid-ul-Adha) at the National Hockey Centre, Tacarigua on
24th September 2015 was also well attended.

15.2 Qurbani
Eid-ul-Adhaa was celebrated on the 24th September 2015 and as usual, we offered our
services to members by sourcing animals and making arrangements for slaughtering.
Three hundred and seventy four animals (sheep and goats) were sold to members and
non-members. We are grateful to the Trinidad Muslim League Inc. and the volunteers for
their continued co-operation in enabling us to provide this service.
