than 1000 enthusiastic workers and laborers, who collected an incredible 6,000 tonnes of waste. The month of March saw the 3rd version of the
impactful project, hosted on the 16 th of March with EEG's strong partner and fan, Emirates Global Aluminium, in Jebel Ali. The group collected
over 450 kgs of waste, which 55 kgs were sent for recycling. The event was organised as a collaborative partnership in between Emirates Global
Aluminum and EEG.
Finishing its successful year on a high note, Emirates Environmental Group held its 4th version of "Clean Up UAE 2017" on the 16th of
December, under the patronage of HE Sultan Al Mansouri, Minister of Economic situation. The EEG group was signed up with by 10,000 fully
commited Clean Up volunteers at the expansive beautiful sites of Nad Al Sheba and the area near the Dubai Outlet Shopping Center on Dubai -
Al Ain Roadway. The ambience was accuseded of excitement and inspiration as volunteers, outfitted with cotton re-usable gloves, caps and tees,
grabbed garbage one at a time in a massive Tidy up drive, actively gathering an impactful 21,750 Kgs of waste.
The campaign was generously sponsored by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and McDonalds UAE. The sustaining entities of the event
consisted of Almarai, Mai Dubai, Dubai Sustainable Tourism, Fujairah Plastic Factories, Byrne Tools Rental, Al Jazeera International Catering
and EEG's media partner, Gulf News. EEG received additional assistance from the Dubai Police, which made sure the smooth operating of the
transport on the day and from Bee'ah, who offered EEG with big waste skips for the gathered waste and sent it for Recycling. Sony Middle East
& Africa FZE provided technological assistance for the campaign.
As said by HE Sultan Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy "In adherence to the UAE Vision 2021 purposes and targets, the Ministry of Economic
climate is committed to supporting programs that promote lasting advancement and assists the nation to stabilize economic development and
social development. So it was a fantastic enjoyment for me to be existing at the Clean Up UAE Campaign organised by Emirates Environmental
Group. It was a perfect screen of mix of efforts of government, economic sector, civil society and community. I was thrilled to see the dedication
and commitment of households, corporates and others to keeping our setting tidy, healthy and balanced and lasting. It was particularly humbling
to see the driven student volunteers bring about genuine change manually on joint action at the lawn origins level. I praise EEG for the continuing
success of this national project and for their initiatives to advance a culture of environmental duty in the UAE.
