“The Municipal Light Plant is listed on the National Register of
Historic Places in recognition of its significance in the growth
and development of the community. It is one of the two oldest
existing hydro-powered municipal electric lighting plants
listed in the Commonwealth’s comprehensive cultural resource

Factory, the building housed Thomson-Houston’s only
hydro-powered electric lighting plant in New England.

As MGED plans for a new electric division building,
General Manager Ken Stone has welcomed the
