Middleborough’s municipal personnel. Middleborough has participated in this important program for the
past five consecutive years and was recognized by the State of Massachusetts as a High Achiever of 2024 for
attaining a cybersecurity awareness training completion rate of 84%! We ranked in the top 14% of all
Massachusetts organizations that received this competitive grant in 2024!
Municipal Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (MLCGP) award administered by the Ofice of Grants and
Research (OGR) totaling $100,062.50. The grant funds are for two project objectives: (1) development of a
written Cybersecurity Incident Response Plan (CIRP), and (2) Tabletop exercises (TTX) involving
cross-functional staf members, including senior leadership. The CIRP developed will incorporate a
comprehensive Business Impact Analysis (BIA) that identifies all systems and applications that need to be
included as part of the Town’s Disaster Recovery and Business Continuance design and plan.
2024 PROJECTS
• Finalized FY22 Community Compact Cabinet (CCC) Municipal Fiber Grant award totaling $99,247.00. The
funds were utilized to purchase, install and configure 10 GB point-to-point fiber links between critical
building locations. The newly installed fiber leverages and optimizes network infrastructure, providing a
layer of fault resiliency that fortifies the environment, minimizing downtime in emergency situations.
• Started FY24 Community Compact Cabinet (CCC) Information Technology Grant Program award totaling
$246,000. The funds are slated to improve Middleborough’s Network Resiliency & Business Continuity.
• Participated in 2023 Nationwide Cybersecurity Review (NCSR), an assessment based on the National
Institute of Standards and Technology Cybersecurity Framework (NIST CSF). This annual, no-cost,
anonymous assessment is required in order to be eligible for federal grant funding.
• Installed Park Department Security Cameras throughout the extensive parks and recreation complex
located at 26 Jackson Street to secure Town assets, including the new equipment at Peirce Playground.
