• Developed an Employee Intranet to provide a
private, secure online platform for internal
communications, including access to encrypted
forms.
• Migrated the legacy Fire Department record
management system oline and developed
database look-up capabilities for staf.
• Completed necessary server retirements and
migrations, including the log, print and file servers.
• Migrated the Assessing Department’s production
environment, which is used to calculate the
property valuations that determine property taxes.
• Enhanced system security organizationally by
implementing extended detection and response
technology on network devices.
• Hardened multi-factor authentication (MFA) at the
Water Department to further secure operational
technology infrastructure.
• Transitioned the Human Resources Department
personnel to a secure cybersecurity platform that
• Set up 38 new network users with Town-enabled
technology, including computer, file storage,
email, and other required network services.
• Provided Voice Over IP (VoIP) Telephone
Platform support for all Town departments,
including Public Safety business lines.
• Expanded the use of Geographical Information
Systems (GIS) online, adding applications and
tools for the Department of Public Works.
• Continued working to digitization files and
records in multiple Town departments, including
the Treasurer/Collector and Human Resources
Departments.
• Participated in monthly virtual meetings with
the Multi-State Information Sharing and
Analysis Center (MS-ISAC), and the
Massachusetts Joint Cybersecurity Awareness
Briefing conducted by Massachusetts State
Police Division of Homeland Security and
Preparedness.

• Refreshed End of Life/End of Support equipment in
the Town’s environment, a best practice critical to
maintaining data security and reliability.
The Information Technology Department would
like to take this opportunity to thank the
Department Heads and our fellow employees for
their assistance and direction over the past year.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the
Select Board, the Capital Planning Committee, the
Peirce Trust, the Finance Committee, the Town
Manager and Town Meeting for their support for
system upgrades, equipment replacements, as
well as future technological development.

(EPA) Water Sector Cybersecurity Evaluation
Program Assessment with the Water Department.
