Banning spectators entirely came as a hammer-blow to both the County Board and
the Clubs alike. Only 40 per team including everyone from players to mentors to

physios seemed very harsh. But yet again the Clubs (and spectators) took it in their

stride, with each Club ‘policing’ their own grounds, not an easy job for those who

were asked to do it. And while the Senior finals are being live-streamed, people have

had to be very inventive if they wanted to see their team play in other divisions!

And so, we have reached, or are reaching, the finals in all age groups from Senior

down to Under 12. Although some players/coaches had not been able to participate

due to health/work issues, for the most part any player who was able to, has played,
all Clubs have fielded in all groups and very few games have had to be postponed –

all-in-all a credit to the Clubs of Clare who have proved, if proof were needed, that

they are willing to go above and beyond to ensure that they get to play the game we

all love.
