NAME: Inari Okami

DESCRIPTION
The Japanese Kami of foxes, of fertility, rice, tea
and sake, of agriculture and industry, of general pros-
perity and worldly success. In earlier Japan, Inari
was also the patron of swordsmiths and merchants.
Represented as androgynous, Inari is sometimes seen
as a collective of three or five individual Kami. The
five Kami identified with Inari are: Ukanomi-
tama, Sarutahiko, Omiyanome, Tanaka, and Shi.
However, when seen with three Kami, they are: Omi-
yame no mikoto (water) Ukanomitama no mikoto Points
(grain) and Sarutahiko no mikami (land). The fox
