2. Build Understanding

For students who are having difficulty with graph comparison, offer these suggestions:
1. Write out the values of each portion of the graph on a separate piece of paper. This not only allows you to

review the graph, but also provides an easier way to read break down of the graph.
2. When finding a number from a percentage, as in problem c, note that you can simply multiply the base

number by a decimal rather than a percentage.
Example: 200,000 0.26 52,000
