Pelé was born in a poor family in Brazil. He loved soccer.
But he couldn’t buy a ball. Young Pelé didn’t give up soccer.
Every day he trained hard for soccer. At the age of 17, Pelé could
play in the World Cup. He was the youngest player in the World
Cup! After that, Pelé played in many international games. He made
his team win a lot of games. He became a hero for people in Brazil.
Now, he doesn’t play soccer any more. But all soccer players and
fans still call him “the king of soccer.”
