Type 5-2 Moving Marbles
Play the Moving Marbles Game according to the rules below.
Rules
1. Each player chooses a color and places two marbles of that color side
by side at one end of the game board.
2. The player who chooses the black marbles can only move them to the
right. The player who chooses the white marbles can only move them to
the left.
3. A player may move a marble any number of spaces per turn. The player
who can no longer move the marbles loses.
If the white marble is moved first as shown below, how many spaces,
and which black marble, should be moved?
1 On a 4 2 game board, who always has the
advantage: the first or the second player?
2 If the game board is two spaces wide and
five spaces long, and the first player started
by moving the black marble one space,
what should the second player do in order to win?
