B CHANGING SENTENCE ORDER
SENTENCE ORDER can often affect the rhythm and flow of your sentences.
There are many ways to change the ORDER of your sentences. You can:
• Begin with the subject: She took the garbage out last night.
• Begin with an adverb: Surprisingly, no one came to the party.
• Begin with a transition word: After the race, I was very tired.
When the mailman came, I went to the door.
Because I was late, I missed the bus.
If I try hard, I will succeed.
EXAMPLE Look at the following sentences.They start in several different ways.
Starts with “I” ➔ I went to the beach this summer.
Starts with the time ➔ This summer, I went to the beach.
Starts with the place ➔ The beach is where I went this summer.
