Smoking causes serious illnesses and deaths. Cigarettes kill more than five million
people all over the world every year. Now, Korea has more smokers than other
countries in the OECD. We must do something about this unhealthy habit. Or, more
and more people will die. What should we do? We can reduce smoking by putting
warning pictures on cigarette packs. Images of yellow teeth or black lungs are
shocking. They show smoking is harmful to our body. Countries like Britain, Peru, and
Malaysia already put them on cigarettes. And people in these countries smoke much
less now. The Korean government also should put the pictures on cigarette packs.
