Unit 1 READING 2

I just got back from a great trip to
the space exhibition at the
museum! First, I looked at some
rocks from the moon. Then I had a
chance to watch a movie about the
first space shuttles. Afterward, I
found my favorite activity there! It was an amazing flight simulator! On it, I
pretended to fly a spaceship to other planets. The coolest thing was that
my weight changed on different planets! That’s because each one has
different gravity, which affects weight. (a) So I weighed more on large
planets, like Neptune and Saturn, than I do on Earth. (b) In fact, I weighed
almost 100 kilograms on Jupiter! It was amazing, since my weight on earth is

only 41 kilograms! (c) On smaller planets like Mars and Venus, I
weighed less than 20 kilograms. (d) In fact, I didn’t even weigh 10
kilograms on the Moon. Interestingly, there were no two planets
on which I weighed the same. Getting firsthand experience was

helpful for learning, and I’d love to go back some time.
