I n a small English village, Life in English Town Expectancy
people have found a
simple way to live a long
time. People in Montacute
grow their own fruits and
vegetables on good farming
land. Many of the old
residents have done this their whole lives. They claim that it has
helped them live for a long time! As a matter of fact, Montacute has
the highest *life expectancy in all of England. The average age of
death for men is 89. As you can see in the graph below, this is higher
than most other places in England by more than 5 to 10 years. What
they eat is not the only secret for their healthy and long
lives. Another is the work. Everyone puts a lot of effort
and care into their gardens. ,
they stay active, healthy, and happy.
