B USING VARIOUS SENTENCE BEGINNINGS
No one likes to read the same words over and over again! Always try to
write your sentences in interesting ways. Here are two ideas:
• You can replace nouns with pronouns.
• You can combine short sentences into longer ones.

Replace nouns My family drove to the beach. My family drove to the beach.
with pronouns My family had a picnic. We had a picnic.
Combine My mother cooked rice. My mother cooked rice and
