Greetings my friends,
After a couple of trips to the “Smokies,” you could say that I was hooked. To call the Smoky
Mountains picturesque is a mere understatement, and there’s a reason why so many tourist
flock to the area.
It’s no exaggeration to say that both my husband and I are outdoor enthusiasts, so hitting
the trails has been put at the top of our “must-to-do-list.” Many acquaintances have been
made here and there has never been a moment that I did not enjoy the fall foliage or revel in
a stunning snow scene with friends. In nature, both seasons are full of color and there is no
shortage of opportunities to enjoy the astounding views in these mountains.
In the magazine world, I have been able to interview so many incredible people, create and
publish several articles of interest, insert beautiful professionally done photos, and provide
some very good-to-know guidelines (as the trails vary in degrees of difficulty).
I would like to say many thanks to all those who contributed to this publication. This issue
is my “fall & winter” edition. In it, you will surely step into fall’s shades of color decorated
with red, gold & orange. Additionally, you can almost smell the hint of chill in the air as you
peek through a winter window and soak up panoramic views of white-capped mountains.
Yes, our Great Smoky Mountains are filled with so many robust treasures. There’s certainly
something here for everyone and trust me, there is plenty. So, come experience the Smokies.
I promise you won’t forget it, and you can bet, I’ll be there.
So, while the days grow shorter, the deer hunker down for the night and the bears go to den.
But to me, I know that the best are quiet times shared in the outdoors. Nature has its course
and every season brings forth its own beauty in the Smokies.
Richest blessings,
DF
