Social Media Musings – Part III My Reflections on the Practice and Life
flaws, Vincent, would play a game of chicken where they would swim from the shore as far as they dared and the one who turned back first lost. For years, as kids, Vincent always lost until one time he won, and had to save his genetically superior brother, Anton. As adults, after Vincent has found a way, through subterfuge and sheer will, to become an astronaut to be sent to Saturn, the two brothers do it again, and again Vincent wins and again has to save his brother from drowning. Before Anton goes under and starts heading back, he asks Vincent how he beat him as kids. Vincent responds:
“You wanna know how I did it? This is how I did it Anton. I never saved anything for the swim back.”

As a parent, the only thing worse than a child not following your solid parenting is following your poor parenting. Be a good example, even when you think they’re not looking or paying attention, because they are.
Find the person who smiles at your audacity.
Deep down, each of us wants to do or say something that affirms us in another’s eyes, mind, and heart that goodness lives.
Many lack motivation because they’re not living their purpose. They’re living another’s life, chasing another’s dream and following another’s plan. Take the time to explore your why and chase it.
Imposter syndrome becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Youthinkyou’reanimposter,so you don’t take risks, you don’t take the lead, you don’t put yourself out there, because you’re afraid others will discover you’re an imposter. Ironically, if you don’t take chances you won’t grow, you won’t develop and that’ll reinforce you’re belief you’re an imposter. Break free.
