COURSE INTRODUCTION

               Course Synopsis

This course offers theory and applications of the multimedia
application development process to the creation of computer-based

training. A review of the principles of instructional design and the
appropriate application of these principles to interactive computer-

based training will be conducted. There is also an exploration of
computer-based multimedia authoring and scripting tools to be used
for creation of various types of computer-based training projects.

The planning, design, production and evaluation of computer-based
training projects for delivery through a variety of media will

               culminate the course of study.

               Course aims

The broad aims of this course are to:

 Recognize the importance of instructional design in computer-

                       based training (CBT)
 Identify structured steps in instructional design activities,
                       models and CBT development

 Utilise effective training methodologies for computer-based
                       training

 Practice technically on instructional models of CBT and
computer implementations of the various instructional

                       methods described
 Practice exercises tied to five basic instructional content types:

facts, concepts, processes, procedures, and principles
 Specify the methodologies provide as a structured approach to
effective design and development of training materials
