3x3 GROUNDSWELL
FESTIVAL
Groundswell Festival has grown to become a signature event on our 3x3 calendar and has become a model template for how we can best differentiate and deliver 3x3 Streetball. Now in its eighth year, Groundswell has evolved into a large youth festival attracting more than 10,000 spectators. The Festival provides a platform for us to showcase 3x3 Streetball alongside other exciting urban street sports such as surfing, skating and BMX, combined with live music, DJ’s, street art, food trucks and host of other activities to attract and engage young people. When this is coupled with the spectacular backdrop of Scarborough beach it really does show off 3x3 basketball in its best light and allows us to promote this new format of the sport to a much wider audience.
This truly is a players tournament, with plenty of competitors returning year on year and wanting to be part of the action.
We could not deliver this standard of event without the backing of the City of Stirling and our events partner, Kinn & Co, along with the support offered by our fellow sporting partners and the local community. This year we also teamed up with Pentanet as a sponsor of our 3x3 tournament and they added plenty of colour and atmosphere to the event, with the Pentanet Lamborghini being an extremely popular attraction!
Basketball WA has already recommitted to being part of Groundswell Festival in 2022 and we look forward to bringing 3x3 Streetball back to Scarborough once again.
