HIGH PERFORMANCE
Referee Development Programs
With the establishment of the South West Regional Referee Program in 2019, as part of our Referee High Performance Referee Pathway we continued with growth and expansion of our referee education programs. 2020 saw the expansion of the Great Southern Region which now has four participants along with facilitator
Colin Davies. In 2021 we will look to replicate similar introductions into additional regions within
Western Australia.
COMPETITIONS
State Championships
With the invitation of Binar to participate at State Championships, Basketball WA was able to support to provide referees for the games planned. We looked to provide an opportunity for indigenous officials whom have a relevant Basketball WA Referee Accreditation.
With the rebranding of the championship divisions into State Titles weekend, Basketball WA was able to ensure our current and potential Referee Development Referees were provided with the appropriate opportunity to participate on this weekend.
Country Championships
Basketball WA was able to continue with associations nominating referees to participate at Country Championships. By which allows for all referees to be centrally rostered which allows for adequate, consistent coaching across championships. This provides the officials with development and growth to allow for continuous improvement with their performance.
