PERTH LYNX
Over the past few decades BWA has shown a continued commitment to Women’s Basketball in Western Australia. This 5 year partnership with the Perth Wildcats organ- isation has been no different. In 2019 BWA committed increased funding into the Perth Lynx pathways for young female athletes and this continued in 2020.
The 2019/20 season saw the Perth Lynx not make the playoffs for the first time in the 5 year partnership with the Wildcats. It also saw the end of a very productive partner- ship between the two organisations, To the credit of Jack Bendat and the Wildcat organisation they have continued their support of the program via a significant financial gift, as management of the team returns to BWA.

the season and with three other WA based players being invited to join the squad. Eighteen players were coached through the Lynx academy, mentoring of the State Under 20’s women’s coach continued, as did individuals and small group sessions with selected athletes and numerous other development activities.
I would like to conclude by saying thank you to BWA, Dr Jack Bendat, the Lynx Board, Lynx CEO Troy Georgiu, Keith Dunlap the BWA representative on the Lynx Board, Lynx Coaching staff Ryan Petrik and Darrell Morgan and all the volunteers and staff for all the work that has gone into this program, not just in this season, but all of the last five years, it has been an incredible experience and one I have enjoyed enormously.
