care and is the right option for many Pennsylvanians, it provides better overall patient care and leads to
better health of our population. As our population over 60 continues to make up a bigger percentage of
our state, strengthening our home care industry is the right option for our seniors and the best use of
taxpayer dollars. I will support expanding Medicare to cover all long-term care for seniors. Additionally,
I will support policies to ensure Medicare workers are able to earn a livable wage, and will support
apprenticeship programs that will train and equip Pennsylvanian’s interested in entering the health
care and home care industry to ensure there continues to be skilled workers to take care of our elderly
        population.

To protect and secure Medicare, I will oppose all Republican efforts to privatize the program and will
fight to protect our health insurance markets from Republican-led efforts to sabotage the Affordable Care
Act. The Republican-led Congress has proposed cutting $537 billion in Medicare funding from the FY19
budget over the next ten years. It is essential that we have a congress who understands the benefits and
importance of this program and votes to fully fund Medicare moving forward, as I will do when elected.”

Clearly, as the Baby Boomer generation ages into the long-term care system and with
limited resources, we must address this issue in short order. Having helped to build a
business in the home healthcare industry from a small company to a large employer
has afforded me a unique perspective on this issue. Our company provides home health
care mobility solutions to consumers, particularly seniors. I have witnessed firsthand
how our products help seniors enjoy a more productive lifestyle in the comfort of their
own home. It is cheaper and more effective solution to sending patients for full-time
treatment at a nursing home or rehabilitation facility. I think it is critical that we make
Medicaid home-based care a sustainable option for years to come and that will take
some significant reforms to the system. I support expanding Medicare to cover in-home personal care.
