We have certainly been in some weird times lately, but there is no doubt that since the pan- demic started, the world of em- ployment has looked a
lot different. With all
the changes the world
has seen over the past
few years, everyone is
getting used to what we
should call a “new nor-
mal.” However, that
“new normal” might
just have some nega-
tive consequences on
local businesses. Sure,
a lot of people work remotely now, and some might have different hours, but in ret- rospect, there just seem to be a lot of businesses that just can’t find employees.

From town halls to restau- rants to everywhere in between, where has all the help gone? Recently, local businesses and organizations have had to ad-
at the library to EMS. And not to mention, there are a variety of restaurants in the Newfound area looking for help. Millions of people have quit their jobs
all over the country, and New Hampshire is no stranger to staffing short- ages.
You would think that age-old question would be, “why don’t people want to work anymore?” But I think the more important question is, “how have small busi- nesses dealt with the staffing shortages?” Well,
there is no doubt that the cur- rent employees of our beloved Newfound local businesses have been working even harder to keep providing their outstanding services to the community.
The people of the commu- nity know that the local busi- nesses in the area have always been staples in our small towns. From the restaurants and local shops, all of these businesses have been working tirelessly to continue to provide for the res- idents and guests of the New- found area.
I believe it goes without say- ing that doing our part and sup- porting these local businesses is vital. It has definitely been chal- lenging for these establishments with all the staffing shortages,
but they have been working through it and doing what they can to stay on track.
So be sure to stop into the local businesses that our area is so lucky to have that has pro- vided so much to our commu- nity over the years, and since some might be struggling with staff shortages, remember to be kind!
If you or someone are look- ing for a job, be sure to check out some local businesses in the Newfound area!
