BRISTOL—Get those run- ning/walking shoes ready be- cause it’s time to “Run Your Buns Off” again. That’s right—on Saturday, Aug. 30, the Newfound Area Charitable Fund hopes to see the Newfound community turn out once more for what has become a Labor Day tradition for residents and visitors alike.
Now in its 16th year, runners and walkers will leave Basic In- gredients Bakery on Rte. 3A in Bristol to “run their buns off” for a professionally timed 4.2-mile outing. The reward for their ef- forts will be worth the calories they burn along the scenic route.
Set for August 30th
16th Annual “Run Your Buns Off” 4.2 Miler
Hosted by Newfound Area Charitable Trust Fund, the race committee is happy to announce that once again this year they have selected to partner with the N.H. Food Bank as their race beneficiary. Through that part- nership, the NACTF will host a mid-winter visit to Bristol from the food bank’s mobile pantry, which will be delivering food for over 250 local families in 2026.
“Last year’s event was a tre- mendous success, and we cannot wait to assist those in need again with this year’s race proceeds,” organizers said.
The giving doesn’t end there
each year however. The NACTF just recently voted to award an unsolicited $8,000 to five other nonprofit beneficiaries, which included the Circle Program, the Mayhew Program, Pasquaney Garden Club and the Hidden Battles Foundation.
“Having the financial means to assist other incredible organi- zations and their programs brings us such joy. Every year that we grow, we give back more and it’s a beautiful thing,” NACTF co-founder Audrey Goudie said. “We invite you all to help us cel- ebrate our 16th Anniversary of Run Your Buns Off! The fun
started in 2009, and we have proudly given back $140,000 to worthy programs and causes in our community. It’s truly amazing when we sit back and realize that this fun little hometown event is entering its sixteenth year as we continue to positively impact our community.”
Garlyn Manganiello, current Vice President and co-founder of NACTF, had more to add.
“This year, we are honored and excited to be collaborating with the N.H. Food Bank for our fifth year by hosting a mobile food pantry in February. The pantry will help provide an abundance of food to those who may be dealing with financial hardships,” she said.
Besides the newer partner- ship with N.H. Food Pantry, the NACTF Board of Directors was also established to assist local charitable groups and causes that promote wellness, fitness, health
education, and activities in the
Newfound Region through funds raised in the annual Labor Day weekend race. Each year, individ- ual runners, walkers, and teams of all ages are encouraged to take part in the fun. The Top three male and female runners and the fastest team will be awarded prizes, and the traditional large prize raffle will be held again this year for participants and specta- tors alike. Upon completion of the course, participants, whether they be walkers or runners, will also be rewarded with some race swag and, of course, one of Basic Ingredients's famous sticky buns.
Participants should note that online pre-registration is now open and is required prior to race day on Aug. 30th; simply go to bit.ly/3YVMQID to get on the list. Businesses interested in be- coming sponsors of this year’s race are asked to please email runyourbunsoff@gmail.com or contact Garlyn Manganiello at 603-744-6035.
