BRISTOL - Area residents and visitors are invited to come out and “Celebrate Bristol” on Saturday, August 23rd. The day will feature many family-friendly activities at Kelley Park with something for everyone, and while admission is free, some ac- tivities and food may require a fee.
Start the day with a hearty pancake breakfast hosted by the local Masons from 7:30–10:30 AM at the Union Lodge Ma- sonic Hall, 18 Pleasant Street in Bristol.
The fun continues in Kelley Park, located off North Main Street, beginning at 10:00 AM with activities running until 3:00 PM. Enjoy food trucks, crafters, vendors, live music, games, a climbing wall, and more!
Bristol’s Police & Fire Depart- ments will be on-site with their vehicles for kids (and adults!) to explore. The Police Department will also be handing out bike helmets to local kids (about 50 available), and Maybel, the de-
partment’s K9, will be doing a live demonstration - a must-see event for the whole family!
On the other end of Kelley Park, the Newfound Classic Car Show will be on display from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with reg- istration for show participants from 8:00–10:00 AM.
Make sure to be at the Pavil- ion by 10:00 AM for the Bristol Community Spirit Award pre- sentation, followed by a special demonstration from the Bristol Police Department and their be- loved K9 officer, Maybel!
Free caricature drawings by Erica Golter from “Have a Cartoon You” will be available throughout the day.
New this year! Join in the hilarity of our first-ever Rub- ber Chicken Throwing Contest - open to all ages! This light- hearted competition challenges participants to see who can throw a rubber chicken the farthest. Whether you're in it to win or just want to cheer on the com- petitors, it’s sure to be a crowd
favorite!
Lastly, save some room and
don’t forget to get your tickets for the TTCC’s Famous Lobster and chicken dinner! Dinner goes from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m., and tickets are available at the Tapply-Thomp- son Community Center or at Kelley Park that day—while still available! Dinner Music will be provided by Solitary Man.
In addition to the Saturday
events, you are invited to an Ec- umenical Service at Inspiration Point on Sunday, August 24th. Offered by the Bristol United Church of Christ, individuals and families from all backgrounds are welcome. The service begins at 9:30 am and parking will be at the Slim Baker Lodge.
We hope you will join your friends and neighbors and come Celebrate Bristol! For more
