If you are looking for a family day out, check out Franklin Li- braries Museum Passes! They offer experiences to Squam Lakes Science Center, the McAu- liffe-Shepard Discovery Center, Castle in the Clouds, the NH Aviation Museum, the Mount Kearsarge Indian Museum, and the Wright Museum! People of the community love participating in different programs that the li- brary offers because they offer so many great things to do.
The library also offers a weekly storytime Wednesdays at 10 AM. If that time doesn’t work for you and your family, you can call up the library and request a different day and time, and if they are available, they will hap- pily read books to your child at that time! Seeing a child’s eyes light up during storytime is a wonderful sight to see, so this is an excellent opportunity for the

Mr. Aaron kicks off the summer program on July 5th! Other programs on the list include a mime, an animal show- case, and a magician!
The library currently has two full-time employees and is funded by tax dollars, grants, trusts, and generous donations from the greater community!

Franklin Historical Society Opens the 2023 Season
The Franklin Historical Society opens the 2023 season with its first monthly meeting Thursday, April 6th, at 7 pm, at its Museum
at Webster Place (21 Holy Cross Rd.—exact directions are posted on the Society’s web- site, www.franklinnhhistoricalsociety.org). The guest speaker will be Mr. John Benham, de- tailing the decades–long history of the “Ke- arsarge Mountain Boys”, a group comprised of some of the most influential residents of Franklin. Photos of members over the years will be available for attendees to help identify
those whose names have been lost.
The meeting is open to all, and light re-
freshments will be served after the talk and before the Society’s regular business meeting, to which all are encouraged to attend. Park- ing is behind the building (first on the right as you enter the property) and along Holy Cross Road (please pull completely off the pavement so as not to block the road).
A rather fuzzy snapshot of possible members of the Kearsarge Mountain Boys, identities unknown, circa 1940.
