A new rod and reel went to whoever caught the biggest fish, whoever caught the smallest fish received a new rod, and the person with the heaviest catch in each division took home a new reel.
While Gibson manned the mi- crophone to announce the start and finish times of each round of fishing, the men and women from the Elks were waiting under their tent to do the judging. Exalted Ruler Dot Ouelette declared that rain had not dampened anyone’s spirits one bit.
“We’re having a good year- a little slower than some years past, but this has been a good crowd here today. They are very enthu- siastic,” she said.
