November to Remember:
Achievements, Celebrations, and Giving Back at NRHS
November was a month filled with exciting events and accomplishments here at Newfound Regional High School, where our students continue to shine in academics, athletics, the arts, and community ser- vice. NRHS truly is one of a kind, thanks to our students.
On Wednesday, No- vember 13, Newfound Regional High School hosted Apply NH Day, an incredible opportunity for seniors to take a big step toward their fu- tures. Thirty-two of our seniors participated, applying to colleges, universities, and vocational pro- grams across New Hampshire and a few out-of-state institu- tions.
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our NRHS Counseling Department—a huge thank you to them for mak- ing this experience so impactful!
Apply NH Day is part of
ApplyNH, New Hampshire’s College Application Campaign, organized by Granite Edvance (formerly the NHHEAF Net- work). Since its launch in 2014, ApplyNH has expanded to in- clude 65 high school sites across the state, supporting over 3,000 students annually. This initiative provides vital support for students as they navigate the application process, with many colleges and universities waiving application fees during the event.
aging post-secondary education and career success within New Hampshire. To further support participants, scholarships are awarded to schools hosting Ap- plyNH events, including a $500 scholarship given to one student at each site.
Also, on November 13, we celebrated our athletes at the Fall Sports Awards. This annual event recognized the dedication, teamwork, and perseverance dis- played by our fall sports teams throughout the season. From the field to the court, our athletes
gave it their all, and it was a privi- lege to honor their hard work and achievements. Congratulations to all of our fall sports teams and individual award winners!
In addition to academics and athletics, our students showed their creative side in the Fall Play: The Wizard of Oz. The perfor- mance brought the beloved clas- sic to life on stage, showcasing the incredible talent and hard work of our theater department. Bravo to the cast and crew for a fantas- tic production!
tional Honor Society made it their mission to spread joy this holiday season with the "Holiday Cards for Our Military Challenge." Students worked hard to create thoughtful and heartfelt cards to let service mem- bers know they are ap- preciated. Their efforts resulted in hundreds of cards ready to ship out and brighten the holidays for those serving far from
home.
November at NRHS has been
a time of growth, celebration, and giving back. From applying for college to honoring our ath- letes, staging a fantastic theater production, and supporting our military, our students continue to make us proud. We look forward to the rest of the school year, with more opportunities for achieve- ment, community building, and making memories that will last forever.
