Lily Karkheck is a senior and has been involved with academic and athletic activi- ties throughout her four years at Newfound Regional. Lily began playing soccer at the middle school and was a mem- ber of the inaugural girls’ var- sity soccer team her freshman year. For the last two years, Lily has been co-captain of the team. Building a new team from scratch requires persever- ance and commitment to the program; the girls’ soccer team has continued to better them- selves over the last four years. Lily played an important lead- ership role in that process. She has also participated on the alpine ski team since freshman year and will finish out her se- nior year with enough girls to qualify as a team in rankings. In her junior year, she decided to participate in track & field run- ning in the 800-meter event. She was excited to be part of the Div. III State Champion- ship team and is looking for- ward to coming back in the

spring. Lily has always had a can-do attitude to pursue ac- tivities and do her best to im- prove herself. Academically, Lily’s grades consistently place her Summa Cum Laude on the Honor Roll. She is a member of the National Honor Soci- ety as well as the Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society. She is also a member of the yearbook committee and the math team, which recently won a multi-school competition in Laconia. Lily has had a chal- lenging course load through- out her high school career and is currently taking several AP classes in preparation for her furthering her post-high school education. Outside of school activities, she sings in her church choir and volunteers to help with Bristol Rotary Club events. Lily also participates in coaching the Little Kicks youth soccer program each fall and enjoys working with younger children. Lily has won the Bears Booster Student-Athlete Award and has also received
the NHIAA Athletic Award in the past for skiing & soccer. She is looking to pursue a pre-med
program after high school and has applied to several colleges in the New England area. We
