PURPOSE
To get to know people in the group and recognize many things make up who we are.
DESCRIPTION
Each participant comes up with three questions to ask people to get to know them. Individuals introduce themselves to the group and the group helps with further introduction by adding what they have learned from asking their questions.
PARTICIPANTS 8-15
TIME
30 minutes (depending on size of the group
Steps:
• Ask everyone to think of three questions they’d like to ask someone they don’t know to better get to know him or her. Encourage them to be creative with their questions going beyond “What’s your favorite color?” to things that will really help others know them like, “If you had two hours to do anything you wanted, what would it be?” or “Who’s your hero?” Give them 10 minutes to do this, talking to as many people as they can.
• Bring the group back together and ask each person to introduce themselves by giving their name, position and the answer to one of their own questions. Then, ask for others to volunteer information they gained about this person during the mixer.
