Marching Band
PURPOSE
A fun mixer that encourages people to be silly and yet to work together as a team.
DESCRIPTION
The teams will demonstrate their skills as a marching band. They choose a tune to play on their kazoos and do a march with fancy steps if desired.
PARTICIPANTS
25 – 200. The higher the number participating, the more exhilarating.
TIME 20 minutes
SUPPLIES
Enough kazoos for everyone
Steps:
• Ask if anyone has ever been in a marching band to please stand. Then ask them to come to the front -- each will be the head of a squadron. Form the teams (squadrons) around these leaders.
• Hand out the kazoos. Tell them they are to name their team, choose a marching song, develop the marching steps and practice. They have 10 minutes to practice.
• If you want to encourage cross-functional teams, suggest that they may choose to work alone as a squadron or they may join other teams to form a larger band -- the bigger the band the better.
