PURPOSE
To show each other and ourselves what
it is we really do during the workday, what we end up doing that isn’t really in anyone’s job description and what our role is on the team. This is particularly good if moving to blended roles and cross training.
DESCRIPTION
The team will give team members new “titles” that acknowledge, identify and show
admiration for the things each do best and for which they are counted on by the team.
PARTICIPANTS the whole team.
TIME 5-10 minutes
Steps:
• Each person should come up with a title for his or herself that accurately describes the value of their job or a particular part of their job that they do well or enjoy or offer to the team. For instance: “She Who Knows Where Everything Is” or “High Priest of Computer Fixes.”
• Alternately, team members can come up with titles for each other.
• Write these new titles on paper nametags and ask people to wear them for a day to solidify their identification.
