PURPOSE
To get acquainted and see oneself as part of a larger community. Use as mixer or as serious exercise (e.g. assertiveness training).
DESCRIPTION
A line-up of participants from one end of the room to the other according to a set standard.
With small groups use the width of the room, with larger groups use the length or with certain topics (like assertiveness), it may be most
appropriate to use a circle. (Those who are most passive often share similar feelings with those who are most aggressive.)
PARTICIPANTS 15-50
TIME
15 - 30 minutes (depending on number of mixes and how much you as facilitator
use it to acquaint or explore.)
Steps:
• Explain that participants should line up wall-to-wall with one wall being __ and the other wall being __ (tallest to shortest, January births to December births, fewest years working to most, very aggressive to very passive, most serious to most comic, couch potato to most active, smallest feet to largest feet, greatest junk food eater to most serious vegan, etc.)
• Explain that they should become acquainted with people along the way to be sure they are in the right place.
