PURPOSE PARTICIPANTS An excellent opening exercise for 6-20
small groups that will be working closely together, especially where the work will require sharing, disclosure or feedback.
DESCRIPTION
Each participant will become well acquainted with one other participant and present that person to the whole group.
TIME
4 minutes for initial interviews, 30 seconds per person for the introductions
Steps:
• Ask participants to look around the room and choose one person that they don’t know very well or at all and pair up with that person.
• Participants should interview each other for the purpose of finding out introductory information to present to the whole group. (You might suggest what info they should obtain from each other.) Inform them that they have two minutes per interview
(4 minutes total) to prepare a 30 second presentation of the other person to the total group.
• Go around the room and make the introductions. Perhaps allow for one follow up question from someone else in the group.
