PURPOSE
To do some team building and increase awareness of what goes on in the facility. .
DESCRIPTION
Teams collect information from around the facility.
PARTICIPANTS Steering, Action, Neighborhood or Household team.
TIME
Can be done throughout a work day or even week.
SUPPLIES
List of things to hunt, pens, any miscellaneous you choose to use as part of the hunt. Perhaps a prize for the winning team or individual.
Steps:
• There is prep work to be done by the facilitator to create a list of information the participants should work to gather. Here are some examples:
• Name three residents who have photos of the grandchildren in their rooms
• Someone in the household was on the game show Jeopardy, who was it?
• Questions about new equipment that has been part of physical changes
• What does F-tag 13 say?
• What kind of flowers are in the arrangement by the entryway?
• How many spoons are there in the drawer to the left of the stove?
• When is the next dining team meeting and who is on the team?
• The questions should be a mix of “get to know you,” observing the physical environment, engaging with elders new changes in “the way things are done,” things participants can look up, etc. If you are doing this with an action team the information they need to gather can be related to the team’s task.
