PURPOSE
To raise awareness of the characteristics of a good team
DESCRIPTION
Pairs or groups role-play examples of the chacteristics of a good team.
PARTICIPANTS 12
TIME
5 minute introduction, 10 minutes group preparation, 5 minutes presentation for each group
SUPPLIES
Team Essentials Handout
Steps:
• Make copies of the Team Essentials Handout and distribute or project them so everyone can see. Read the info on the handout to the group.
• Break the larger group up into 6 pairs or small groups and assign one team essential
to each group. The groups are to role-play examples of scenarios or behaviors that exemplify their assigned team essential. Pairs may wish to have one person play the
role of someone who exemplifies the essential and the other person someone who does not. Not everyone has to present, but they should be involved in deciding what will
be portrayed. Give them 10 minutes to prepare.
• Bring the groups back together and have them present.
• After everyone has presented, have a short discussion about which team essentials are easier to exemplify in real life and which are more of a challenge.
