One of these is the VCE Expansion project, a $22.65 million suite of initiatives to give rural and regional students more options in their VCE, which includes:
•the VCE Collaboration fund, which provides grants of up to $40,000 to
establish school partnerships to broaden VCE subject choice and quality of
offerings, including languages
• a new VCE languages brokerage service:

Collectively these initiatives will increase access to languages education in rural and regional areas.
Initially, this will include information about where languages can be studied at the VCE level across all sectors, the Victorian School of Languages (VSL) and community languages schools; The second phase of this project will investigate the possibility of students accessing a language course remotely using the new Cisco Webex video conferencing software through a partnership arrangement between their home school and the school offering the language;
Development of three new virtual VCE language subjects through the VSL. VSL has developed virtual delivery of VCE Hindi, available in 2020. This will be followed with the development and virtual delivery of both VCE Punjabi and Vietnamese in 2021 and 2022.
