LANGUAGES EDUCATION IN VICTORIA – RURAL AND REGIONAL
Some of the success stories:
• Warrnambool College: French and Indonesian VCE completions
• Mirboo North Secondary College: German VCE completions
• Stawell Secondary College and Mt Clear College : Chinese engagement programs
• Mt Beauty Secondary College and Corryong College: Successful provision by small rural schools
• Myrtleford P-12 and Marian College: Collaborating to ensure greater VCE subject choice including Italian.

WHAT WE’RE DOING TO IMPROVE OUTCOMES IN RURAL AND REGIONAL AREAS
More than $38 million for a range of initiatives, including:
• $13.2M to enable rural and regional students to attend VCE revision lectures in Melbourne
• $7.8M for Bastow to expand professional development for teachers and leaders in rural and regional areas
• $5.1M to employ eight coordinators to support schools to work in clusters
• $3.7M for outreach and virtual programs, such as JMSS rural exchange program
• $3.7M to abolish enrolment fees for Virtual Schools Victoria for government school students
• $2.5M to lift aspirations by increasing access to mentoring, role models and information about post-school pathways
• $1.4M for Tech Schools to host programs for regional and rural students
