From the very beginning of his public service, Mayor Adams has shown a deep respect for immigrant communities and the vital role they play in shaping the city we love. For the Albanian- American community in particular, he has gone beyond words — he has taken action. Each year, he has joined us in raising the Albanian flag at Bowling Green, a symbol that our history, our sacrifices, and our contributions are recognized in the heart of this great city. He has welcomed us to Gracie Mansion, giving our culture, our traditions, and our voices a place at the table of New York’s leadership.

Mayor Adams has also been a strong supporter of our business community, recognizing the hard work and entrepreneurial spirit that so many Albanian-Americans bring to the city’s economy. He has highlighted our role as small business owners, professionals, artists, and public servants who enrich every corner of New York.
But more than that, he has understood something essential — that our story is not just the Albanian story, it is the New York story. A story of resilience, of hard work, of building something better for the next generation. And in this, Mayor Adams has always reminded us that we are not only contributors to New York, but part of what makes New York strong, diverse, and unique.
So tonight, we express our gratitude. Gratitude for his friendship, for his leadership, and for his recognition of the Albanian-American community as an integral part of this city’s future.
For these reasons, and for his steadfast commitment to peace, harmony, and community, we are proud to present Mayor Eric Adams with this honor.
