• The results showed that local patients receiving androgen deprivation
therapy (ADT) plus docetaxel could gain similar benefits at an early
stage, compared with their western counterparts in CHAARTED trial,
even though the local study included a greater proportion of patients
with high-volume disease. 1,2
• However, the local study found that local patients may have a higher
risk of having chemotherapy-related haematological toxicities,
so careful patient selection and consideration of granulocyte colony
stimulating factor (GCSF) is necessary before starting the combination

therapy.
