tinting covering the entire front glass, end-to-end. Nice touch. Inside I find a smaller waiting room and a clip-
board to sign in.
Within 5 minutes I was called back to a busy showroom with a long row of display cases. The young man that
called me back introduced himself and asked for my OMMA card and driver’s license. I informed him that I had
left it in my truck. He paused and asked the manager what to do. The manager instructed him to continue and
mark me down as a walk-in. He led me to an open section of the cases and began telling me what flower was
available. There were about six different options; some obvious mids but also some very nice big buds caught my
eye. Their selection of edibles and concentrates was fairly large, although I didn’t recognize some of the brands
available. I asked about the special I saw advertised. He confirmed $10/gram all flower choices and showed me
four of what he considered top shelf or good sellers. Of the four, I had already experienced Purple Gorilla, so
I went with 2Gs of Night Train, 2 Gs of Zskittlez and 1G of Cheese. All were quality flower, though not what I
would call top shelf.
While waiting to pay for my order, I noticed the shop had lots of shirts and swag. I presented my patient card to
the manager, reminding her that I did not have it with me, she stated “No problem.” I paid $54 out the door.
$26 in hand, I was off to the next stop.
Realizing I wasn’t far from another dispensary I’m familiar with, Ye Old Apothecary Shoppe, I decided to head
there to see what they had going on. When I arrived, I noticed, much like my first stop, that this dispensary also
has an adjoining operation. On one side was the dispensary, and the other was a Compassioncare center where
they hold Dr. recommendation clinics and help patients with limited means to get recommendations and patient
cards.
Inside the dispensary I find many interesting items lining the walls and floor and asked the owner, Danna,
“What’s all the stuff for?” Danna told me about the items as well as how they were donated from all over for an
auction and fundraiser to be held on 4/20, for their compassioncare program. She also explained how they are
working towards low cost RSO for cancer patients.
Busy as she was, she excused herself and handed me off to one of the budtenders who took me to a wall lined
with small sealed jars, each labeled as to their strain type and flower name. They allowed me to smell each one
that interested me and told me about their $6.50/G special on one strain called Dutch Kush. It definitely caught
my interest and expected it to be a poorly trimmed mid-to-low shelf flower. Much to my delight and my nose,
I found it to be a dense, well-cured bud with a citrus-like, fruity smell. I asked for 3.5 grams, presented my card
and scoped out the large edible variety.
The budtender told me my total - just under $25 out the door. This left me with a buck and some change, enough
for a drink before hitting the highway back home.
In all, on this trip I was able to get a pre-roll and 9.5 grams of four different types of flower for $99.
There was a common theme with all four shops I visited. At each dispensary, I asked the employees “What grow
did the flower come from?” Not one budtender from any of those shops could answer that question. It struck me
as odd that they had no idea what grower’s flower they were promoting!
This leads me to the next time we go “Trippin’ with OG RedNeck” where we will start to #knowthegrowers.
Blessings & Peace. Until next time - OG Redneck
