On a rainy, cool, and windy Oklahoma Saturday, I have $100 in hand and find myself driving down the Broken
Arrow Expressway on a road trip to check out a few dispensaries. Unsure of which ones I was going to visit, I
knew one wasn’t far from the highway and decided this would be my first stop - the Compassionate Alternative
        Medicine Dispensary.

When I arrived, there was an adjoining business with a separate entrance named Oklahoma Medical Cannabis
Information & Resource Center. Inside I find what appears to be a nice clinic waiting area and a very friendly
nurse at the reception desk. This is where I found out that they offer cannabis-related counseling and treatment
plans for new and inexperienced medical cannabis patients seeking clinical guidance. I discovered that they also
offer medical doctor exams and recommendations for patients who apply for an OMMA card.

Through the dispensary entrance, I find a similar waiting area and a reception window where I was greeted by
the owner, Ashleigh. I presented my patient card and was quickly buzzed back to the showroom and past an
armed security officer. A young man wearing medical scrubs introduced himself and walked me over to the dis-
play cases. He was knowledgeable about the flower in stock and, though selection at the time was small, the GSC
Extreme was very nice looking and had great terps. I ended up opting for the $5 pre-roll of Sour Diesel, as I had
        more stops to make.

So $5 out the door and $95 still in hand. I head to Sand Springs to scope out Grow Pro and the Herbin Joint.

I must admit that GrowPro was smaller than I had envisioned, however, they did have a great selection of grow
gear and some good prices. The owners weren’t there but the young lady working was very friendly, helpful, and
knew quite a lot about the products.

I slide directly next door to the Herbin Joint, a dispensary owned by the same folks - Tyler & Angie Goins. Inside
I find a large waiting area with a nice couch and a long wall with a check-in window. I presented my card to the
young lady, and after checking it, she placed it in a basket through another small opening to the showroom. She
told me to come through the door and into the showroom where they had a nice selection of edibles, concen-
        trates, and several flower choices.

The Tangerine Dream was on special and had a nice, dense bud that was hand-trimmed and glistening in tri-
chomes. I chose to try a gram of that, which ran me $15 out the door.

$80 in hand, I was off to the next stop.

Unsure of where to try next, I opened up Weedmaps and searched for nearby deals. *BAM!!* $10/Gs all day, top
shelf included, at The FireStation. GPS locked, I’m off to check it out. Much to my surprise I arrive to discover its
next to Ink Junkies Tattoo Shop. Even more to my surprise is who I ran into outside the ink shop - Mel D! Mel
D, or Melvin Dikeman, is not only an amazing tattoo artist and all-around solid dude, but he is also an Oklaho-
ma grower featuring his own flower in the dispensary, starting 4/20. We had a great but short visit on all topics
cannabiz-related and I’m sure I will be visiting with him again, real soon.

I headed just down the sidewalk towards The FireStation dispensary and immediately noticed the flame print
