on Bravo course both did a very professional job of pulling off four races for a very long and enjoyable day of racing.
When everyone got back to the RCYC the Club was ready with the Regatta Dinner and Party that exceeded everyone’s expectations. There was 800 complimentary Rodney’s Oysters to ensure everyone got their share plus complimentary red & white wine from Mezzacorona that was a delight and flowed all night long. A live reggae band featuring recording legend Errol Blackwood was playing in the Harbourview Room and before the evening ended he had everyone dancing.
The Regatta BBQ dinner featured Chipotle Chicken, two salads, baked potatoes and seasonal fruit. The reviews were great with everyone agreeing the meal satisfied a hungry sailor’s appetite after a tough, long, hot day on the water. Compliments to the RCYC F&B Team for an outstanding meal.
Sunday saw lighter, shifty winds and a flat lake. The Race Committee volunteers once again did a very professional job of running the races and with an earlier start to the day everyone was finished by early afternoon.
Back at the Clubhouse the awards were presented on the Front Lawn with the RCYC Rear Commodore Fleet, André Colenbrander presenting the flags and trophy. The final results are listed on the Regatta website at: https://yachtscoring.com/emenu.cfm?eID=7296. The overall winner of the JFEST CUP, in a tie breaker,
was Crime Scene, a J35, skipper Paul Bark. Martha Henderson was presented the JFEST AWARD for outstanding volunteer of the regatta for organizing the Race Committee.
JFEST 2019 was “as good as it gets” both on and off the water and a big thank you goes to the RCYC for hosting an amazing regatta with congratulations going to all the Podium Winners, the Race Committee, the Volunteers and everyone at the RCYC for pulling off a quality, professional and just plain FUN regatta.
