 After the Paddle everyone was treated to a BBQ on South Island featuring donated McDonald’s Burgers & McNuggets and a mixed salad from the Chef’s Garden. A big thank you to Clubhouse Manager Nick Diano who donated his time to flip burgers and Libby Bullock and Susan Howson who organized the BBQ. The Club donated a large carrot cake that with Nick’s skill in slicing managed to feed everyone.
The Commodore and George Cohon both talked over lunch about the importance of the RMHT, but it
was the short talk by Shelley Budhu about her family’s experience at the House that really helped everyone understand the support the House provides to a family in need.
The RCYC Paddlethon was a huge success that exceeded everyone’s expectations and a great beginning to an annual event.
