temporary options and other children's activities on Snug Island. These will be introduced in future issues of Hiawatha.
• Snug Island grounds will be rolled and levelled and grass seed will be planted. There may be some yellow tape protecting significant portions of Snug Island during the early part of the season.
• Members with children should supervise them closely along the retaining wall at the southwest corner of North Island as there has been flood-related damage. Hazardous areas are being marked with yellow caution tape and a permanent solution will take some time to develop and implement. Discussions with our insurers are ongoing.
• The North Island tennis courts are being resurfaced and will be ready for play by mid-June. The South Island courts are in need of a major – and costly – refurbishment and will be unavailable for use this summer. Sports Director Taylor Fawcett will keep our enthusiastic tennis players posted as plans develop for the future.
to work, which will translate into world class service.
Also related to F&B, please see RC Hague’s column in this issue of Kwasind for a reminder of the new rules and regulations related to alcohol on the Island to familiarize yourself with these important details.

We ask for Member patience and also feedback, just as you did in the City Clubhouse, to identify the various deficiencies and/or opportunities to ensure the project is completed in a satisfactory manner.
I also want Members to know we have heard you, and that while the physical facility upgrades are nice, it won’t matter if the service is not good. Management, the Board and Committees have delved into this issue. Our Club, while wonderful, does present some logistical and other challenges in providing an excellent working environment for our Staff, which can translate into implications to the service levels. It is our desire to ensure that the service levels in our wonderful new venues are consistent with being a world-class club. To address this, an incredible amount of time has been spent over the Winter months unpacking this issue. It is complex, and appropriate time is still required to land on workable solutions, I look forward to sharing more details on this work as it progresses with a goal that one day the RCYC will be one of the best places in the City
